  1. Great option for compact cot.
    Review by Canoe Camper

I have had a Byer Allagash cot (old style, 25" wide w wooden rails) for over 10 years and used it everywhere - it's still taut and in like new condition. Really like the low stance in backbacking tents - especially like the spring bow legs because they are so tent floor friendly. Went directly to Byer factory store to buy another for a hike/canoe trip last week so both of us could be off the ground - spotted and bought the TriLite - just about identical dimensions but folds up smaller so rides nicely across the top or bottom of my frame pack. Sets up fast and easily, nice tight cover, good back support. Forgot my foam pad - no worries great night's sleep just the same. (Posted on 7/2/2012)

  2. Excellent Cot
    Review by Long Distance Rider

I too saw this advertised and tested in the BMWMOA news and was on line within works, what else is there to say, and, it fits my 15 year old Thermorest like it was made for it....being a full figured touring rider I was a litle hesitant getting on it the first few times, but my 6' 2", 250lb body fits just right......and the cot is no worse for wear after lots of use.... 3. Excellent for smaller tents.
    Review by OneGalsOpinion

The Byer TriLite Cot is awesome. It's just the right size for a 2-man, 5' x 7' tent: I can put the cot near one long wall and have a small pathway between my gear bag and a small table to access the door to the outside. I loathe the idea of sleeping on the ground and have never camped without a cot. This one is a lot easier to set up, takes up less verticle space, and weighs less than others I have used. The fabric for the cot and the carrying bag seem strong and durable. The same is true for the hardware. Though I don't know if the cot fabric at the folding areas wil wear over time but that should be years to come if at all. I didn't know that I didn't have to wrestle with my sleep pad through the night until I got the TriLIte. The fixed straps to hold the pad in place are indispensible. The side storage pouch is most convenient.
I use a cheap, closed cell pad on top and I'm fine with that. But I know that adding a decent inflatable pad would make this luxurious. (Posted on 3/30/2012)

  4. Very comfortable, lightweight bed
    Review by Compact Traveler

The cot is a great bed that you can take anywhere and get a comfortable nights sleep. I frequently go on weekend camping and road trips, and commonly arrive at destinations late at night or have difficulty finding a hotel along the way. I purchased the TriLite cot because the low profile and dimensions fit in the back of my SUV (Jeep Grand Cherokee, a small toolbox behind the passenger seat supports the top bar). After sleeping on it I found it was more comfortable than a regular cot. I have used it for about 8 years (probably 200+ nights) and it is still in good condition. Last year I loaned it to my brother to take on a hunting trip and now he is looking to buy one. I cannot find any retailers that carry the TriLite and I am disappointed that Byer shows it out of stock. Nonetheless, it is a great cot and I highly recommend it.... if you can find any outlet that carries it. Please Byer, put it back in production. It is a great product. (Posted on 2/29/2012)

  6. love this cot
    Review by jane

This cot is awesome. I spent 3 weeks on a motorcycle trip and slept very well every night! There are no bars that you sleep on, the canvas is strong. It set up quickly and easily! And the fact that it was light weight and folded up small made it easy to pack on the motorcycle.

I would recommend the cot to everyone!! (Posted on 9/5/2011)

  7. Excellent piece of camping gear
    Review by Long Distance Rider

I saw this lightweight cot reviewed in the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America monthly magazine. It was tested as a cot for the touring rider. I read the article and immediately got on the net to put in my order. What a great cot, well built and easy to put together. I was put off by the "made in china" verbage on the box, but oh well, welcome to the 21st century. So now strapped to my German motorcycle is a great Chinese cot. I would highly recommend this porduct. And by the way, I am a somewhat full figured rider and the the 250 weight limit works fine. (Posted on 6/15/2011)
